How this calculator works
Reconstituting a peptide means adding a liquid (usually bacteriostatic water) to the lyophilized powder to bring it into solution. Once reconstituted, the concentration of your solution is fixed — total peptide mass ÷ volume of liquid added — and every dose you draw afterward is a fraction of that concentration.
The three numbers you need
- Vial content — the total mass of peptide in the vial, printed on the label (e.g. 5mg).
- Reconstitution volume — how much liquid you add. More liquid = lower concentration = finer dosing resolution.
- Target dose — how much you want per injection, usually in micrograms (mcg) for smaller research doses.
Reading the syringe
Standard insulin syringes measure in units, where a 1mL (100-unit) syringe means 100 units = 1mL. A 0.5mL syringe has 50 units to the same 1mL, so each unit line represents a smaller volume — useful for very small doses. Whatever syringe you use, always draw to the calculated line, not by comparing vial size visually.
